Range Rover has unveiled its inaugural fully electric SUV for the UK market, with a starting price of £154,070. Customers can place their orders now, with the first deliveries anticipated in 2027. This launch represents a significant milestone in Jaguar Land Rover’s transition toward electric vehicle manufacturing, as the new Range Rover Electric will be produced at the company’s Solihull facility in the UK.
The luxury SUV features dual electric motors, generating up to 550PS and 850Nm of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 60mph in just 4.3 seconds. It boasts a driving range of up to 372 miles, as per the WLTP testing cycle. The vehicle is equipped with a 118.5kWh battery that supports 800-volt charging, allowing for rapid charging from 10% to 80% in approximately 22 minutes under optimal conditions.
Maintaining the brand’s signature luxury aesthetics and off-road prowess, the Range Rover Electric integrates an electric powertrain and enhanced aerodynamic elements. It is also capable of navigating through water depths of up to 900mm, ensuring its versatility in various terrains.
The development and testing of the Range Rover Electric have spanned several years. Jaguar Land Rover’s Wolverhampton facility will provide critical support in production by manufacturing the battery packs and electric drive units essential for the vehicle.
